Samantha Napaltjarri Daniels

Samantha Daniels Napaltjarri was born in 1982 and is from the very remote Docker River Community (Kaltakatjarra), about 670km southwest of Alice Springs. Her Language group is Luritja and she takes an active part as a social worker and office duties for her community as she has a University Degree. Samantha has been painting since 2005 and is proud to promote her culture through her artwork

Her mother is the celebrated artist Ruby Nangala Daniels, her Grandmother is the even more celebrated Linda Syddick Napaltjarri and her grandfather is the distinguished artist Clifford Possum.

Having been excellently tutored by both Ruby and Linda, Samantha is now applying her undoubted talent to produce some wonderful works – with her own creative flair. She is proudly carrying on the artistic traditions of her people and their stories that have been entrusted to her. Having already featured in several successful exhibitions, and local and overseas collections, Samantha’s works are now regarded as investments for the future.

Recently her favourite subject is “My Country” which represents important landmarks and features in the landscape. Her paintings are very descriptive, telling the story of her family’s country.

She has had sell out exhibitions with Maruku Art Centre at Yulara at Ayers Rock, Northern Territory. Samantha and her mother won first and second Art Award prize in 2006 from the Maraku Art Centre. She has also successfully sold her artwork with Alice Springs Art Galleries.

Her talent is obvious and is destined to becoming a major artist whose artwork will be sought after by collectors worldwide.
