Elizabeth Nungarrayi Ross

 

Born. c.1950 Yurntumu, NT

Walpiri artist from Lajamanu who works with her husband Peter Ross and started painting in 1986.

Elizabeth worked at the school for many years in the bilingual education program, developing resources for teaching Warlpiri. She loves to learn and has taken several courses at Batchelor College over the years. She loves her culture and really understands so much about it. She has been painting when she has spare time for a long time. Elizabeth does ceremony and song still and has done this all her life as well as teaching children and being a committee member of her church. Her favourite past-time in retirement is painting.
