Continue ShoppingRockholes of Irruntju - 2011
The roundels in this painting depict the rockholes at the site of Irruntju near Wingellina in the north of South Australia. This site is associated with Caterpillar Dreaming.
The caterpillar's are represented in this painting by 'u' shapes. During ancestral times the Caterpillar ancestors travelled from this site towards Alice Springs.
This site was also visited by two travelling women who also travelled towards the north passing through the Tjukurla area before reaching Nyunmanu, south east of the Kintore community.
